      Lincoln E. Carbaugh, 54, Fayetteville Route. 2, died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday in Chambersburg Hospital where he had been admitted early Saturday morning after suffering a heart attack at his home. He was born in South Mountain, a son of the late David and Mable A. Carbaugh Carbaugh, and had lived most of his life in the South Mountain area. He was a veteran of World War II during which he was awarded the Croix de Guerre , and service medal with five [bronze stars for service with the U. S. Army in the European, African and Middle Eastern theatres. Following his discharge from the Army he worked at Letterkenny Army Depot for a number of years, and for the last 15 years he was employed at Fort Ritchie as a diesel mechanic. He was a member of the south mountain Bible church and the south mountain volunteer fire company. Surviving are his widow, the former Ida E. Naugle whom he wed in September 1946; three sons. Dale huff, lane Carbaugh and Donald Carbaugh, all of Fayetteville route 2; four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Lewis Miller, Mount alto. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the south mountain bible Church with the Rev. Argyll Dick in charge. Burial with military honors will be in Strangs Cemetery. Friends may call at the Grove Funeral home, Waynesboro, from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening.
