Hagerstown Newspaper dated 5/31/1848 - as reported in the Charlestown Press, Michael from Harpers Ferry drowned in the Potomac River Tuesday morning last. Assuming this is Tuesday the previous week. "Mrs. Grace Carbaugh

Mrs. Grace Carbaugh, 81 years, 10 months and 8 days, passed away at the home of daughter Miss Carrie Carbaugh, Funkstown, Md., on March 8, 1954. Mrs. Carbaugh had been in ill health for a numver of years. She was preceeded [sic] in death by her husband, William Carbaugh in September 1925.

Survivors include the following children: Mrs. Clara Rogers and Roy Carbaugh of Lancaster, Mrs. Ethel Gearhart of McConnellsburg, Mrs. Marie Baxter of Youngstown, Ohio, and Miss Carrie Carbaugh of Funkstown, Md. There are two twins, Melvin and Virgil deceased, Claude M., Ellsworth L., Errie L., Russell and Chester.

Sixteen grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held at the White Church adjoining Union cemetery, South of McConnellsburg on Thursday March 11, at 3 o'clock. Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery."
